Are Discovered America Before the arrival of Columbus?
When we say "discovered", we usually have a very specific meaning in mind. It means that the people of a civilization came to an area where no one has come from them before. As you know, an investigator often find people and civilizations that have lived in a place that he "discovered". Why not say these people have found that area before?
From the standpoint of Western civilization, we say that Columbus discovered America. This is because after the discovery of the New World he found began to be visited and finally populated from the Old World. But 500 years before Columbus was born, the Norwegian people have held a little "discovery" as well. They sailed west to discover Iceland, then Greenland, and finally the mainland United States.
Did you know that the Chinese tell the voyage originally by Chinese sailors to discover what has become California? And the people of the South Sea Islands are still glorifying the big guys in the past those who sailed to South America long before white men reached South America or the South Sea Islands.
Throughout our knowledge, there have been many times mugkin exploration of thousands of years ago. Of course there are days like the days of Columbus exploration. Perhaps we can say that both Columbus and the Norwegian people had not "discovered" America. Did the Indians have been living here for centuries before white people arrived?
And Who can say that they did not set sail for an invention? It is said that they came from Asia, although we do not know when or how they make the trip. Most likely they reached America for centuries, and by passing through a different path. Most likely they also sent their scouts to find a walk through the land or sea. These scouts were their explorers, explorers, and may in fact they who discovered America!
