Tokyo: Japanese auto manufacturer Mitsubishi Motors will end production in Europe, the Netherlands. Closure plan at the end of the year was announced by the Mitsubishi on Monday (6/2).
Mitsubishi plant in one of the European region will be closed because it can only produce as many as 40,000 units a year. And the fiscal income of less than 20 percent of the company's sales target for Europe to produce 220 000 units.
The company instead will focus its resources in developing countries, where production costs are lower. In addition, Mitsubishi is also planning to increase exports from Thailand bound Europe, having opened a new plant in the country in March.
Mitsubishi Motors will also start talks with the Dutch government about the possibility of selling the plant and transfer the 1500 workers. (TNT / ANS / NHK)
