Two F-16 fighter jets immediately deployed from March Air Reserve Base, east of Los Angeles, by officials of Regional Command North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD), which was notified about the "violation of the airspace around the" Los Angeles International Airport, spokesman says talk to NORAD.
The fighter jets to make contact with the Cessna 182 pilot, single engine aircraft. The pilot then follow the instructions to land at Long Beach Airport, said spokesman Michael Kucharek said.
U.S. Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said agents questioned several pilot and set no intent to harm the president.
Spokesman for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said the pilot had flown from Santa Maria in Central California, to Long Beach and did not respond to radio communications fighter jets approached.
Obama flew by helicopter the White House, Marine One, from Los Angeles to Corona Del Mar coastal settlement for fundraisers and back again on Thursday morning.
There is no information as to whether criminal charges will be filed in connection with the incident. Some law enforcement source said authorities found 10 pounds, of marijuana on the plane.
