New York: A chip that served as a pharmacist to the patient has been tested Scientists United States. The chip is implanted under human skin can be activated by remote control, and manage the appropriate dose.

Proclaimed the BBC on Thursday (16/2), scientists test the State's Superpower is at a women with osteoporosis. This small object is inserted in the waist and activated through a remote control.

In clinical trials, as reported in the Science Translational Medicine, shows the chip can properly manage the patient dose and no side effects. Innovation in medicine has also become a discussion at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

One of the designers in the study, Robert Langer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, said the nature of the chip is programmed into a new device that could pave the way in the pharmaceutical world.

"You really can have a pharmacy on a chip," said Langer. "This study used the device for the treatment of osteoporosis. However, there are many other applications where the type of microchip approach can improve treatment outcomes for patients, such as multiple sclerosis, the delivery of vaccines, cancer treatments and for pain management."
