Mariah Carey is rumored to have been officially replace Jennifer Lopez as a judge of American Idol. According to USA Today, Fox program chief, Kevin Reily has confirmed the deal.
The high-voiced singer will receive a fee of 113 billion rupiah for one episode of American Idol. The value of the highest paid at the same time scoring record along the American Idol title.
Producer and American Idol creator, Simon Fuller also confirmed the news. Fuller said they were proud to pick up a class diva Carey as the new jury. "We are proud to be able to pick up one of the best female singer of the world," says Fuller, as quoted on the website Contact Music.
According to Fuller, Carey will be used as a source of inspiration for American Idol contestants. "Carey represents the word 'idol'. Each singer will get inspiration so singing in front of him," added Fuller again.
